Photography- My true hobby

Hobbies, the word which you come to know while you are a child full of life and ambitions and later when you have to put it on a resume/CV. Its amazing how so many people let go of their hobbies as they grow up and there are a few who make sure that they live it. The world has become so catastrophic that you have to live a little to forget so many problems going around you, for that you need to follow on the path of what you heart tells you for a change. If you cant do so then why not enjoy them adjacently.
As I grew up i wasn't that into academics or books either so didn't have the hobby of reading books like the smart ones did. I had interest in athletics but was too lazy to follow on that path either but as I grew a bit older i loved playing football even though i sucked it and wasn't in shape either. Later i continued playing frequently because you have a lot of people here in Saudi Arabia who fancy playing it everyday. But you cant count sports as a real hobby either from my perspective. As i was progressing to high schools almost everyone was having a cell phone in their hands with a camera, that was when my craze for taking pictures began. I didn't have a phone back in high school but i did have a digi cam at that time which i loved to use.
I felt that pictures are filled with an essence which is captured, a photograph can portray memories for some and the despicable beauty of a landscape which cant be reached by all. There are so many things a single graphic piece of paper can be for you. I used to capture everything i liked back then, some times it was through my brothers phone or with some camera. Whenever i used to go out with some friends or family, if anyone had a camera i always loved taking the pictures while we were out. Sometimes the appreciation made me smile and proud from inside.
I got my first phone with a camera when i was moving to India, I loved that phone and took it with me everywhere i went even though i didn't have any balance in it. Unfortunately it got stolen and it was really depressing since that was the first time that i have lost a precious thing that belonged to me. All the pictures that i took, all those memories stolen. Nowadays it is easier since we have options like backup and restore.

After several years while i was in engineering i saved money for about four or five months and finally purchased a beginners DSLR camera. I used to call every single day till my camera was delivered to me. Once i got the camera having any phone didn't matter anymore because the thing i wanted most at that time belonged to me. I didnt use the camera for the usual kind of photography that professionals use, instead i was using it at an automatic mode like the rest of the ameture robots who had a DSLR camera. I used to take it to gatheings, birthdays, marriages and some times to the trips too. Eventhough i was shooting the regular photos, some of them were appreciated by many people and i felt really proud of myself.
Finally after coming to Jeddah teo months back I had a lot of free time so I started checking out the tutorials and started shooting by the use of Manual mode. Adjusting the shutter speed, ISO and aperture and the photos got better and better, I even bought a tripod for long shutter speed pictures. I wouldnt say that i am taking the perfect pictures but i have improved a lot. Taking such picture and being appreciated for is a unique feeling that i cant even describe because this is something i love to do and people are liking it.
This isnt my only hobby since i also love to cook but this is a totally different kind of pleasure. Uptil now i have learnt how to shoot timelapse, hyperlpse, landscape photography, wedding photography and subject photography. I have got much to learn and will continue on that path, i might have things to do in future but i will try to do this along for sure. For everyone reading this one do follow what you love you might start feeling complete for a change.
