A Masterpiece of a movie maker- Imtiyaz Ali

Yesterday i sat down on the couch looking for a movie to watch and the first one on the list was a movie called "Tamasha" which means drama. A movie made by Imtiyaz ali who is well known for his out of the box and unorthodox movies in the past. The movies in the beginning were a bit easy on the mind but later on he started working on masterpieces which captured both fiction and reality of this world. I don't remember his other works in the beginning but i do remember the first time i saw an imtiyaz ali movie was "Jab We Met", It was a simplisive movie about a rich young guy who just went through a heartbreak and wants to end his life due to depression but he meets someone who love everything around her and is surrounded with positivity who changes him along the way. The movie is one of the best romantic movies which i love to watch whenever it comes on the telly.
Later Imtiyaz ali started working on movies a bit complex like rockstar and highway which the average Indian viewers wernt able to understand. Even i was a bit confused by the end of the movie Rockstar, It took me half and hour to reanalyse the movie on the ride back home and that was the time when i realised how good the movie was. I didn't see the movie"Highway" when it came out because of two reasons, firstly because i hated the brat actress who was the lead in the movie and secondly due to the fact that it looked like any other kidnapping love story. One day i was having no other movie to watch and the Internet was out, so it was just me and highway then. In the beginning it was very slow but later as the movie progressed it was breathtaking, it wasn't just about the love story of a kidnapper and the kidnapped girl but the freedom she felt outside the crystal of a life she thought she was in. The movie had so much life in it that after the movie ends you start to think about your life and that's how good Imtiyaz Ali is.

He did other two movies about modern day complicated relationships called "Love Aaj Kal" and also "Socha Na Tha" which were different from the cliche's of bollywood romantic movies. I liked them too and they were fun to watch but rockstar and highway might be on a higher grade.
After a whole year he released another movie named Tamasha with one of the bollywoods most loved duo, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. Ranbir was struggling with the chain of flops since his work in Barfi, this was his chance at pulling up his pants and get serious because it cant get any better than Imtiyaz Ali. The move released just two days ago on Friday and i didn't read any reviews because i feel that the reviews are just a perspective from a persons point of views. Everyone has a different way of thinking and relying on a persons review for watching a movie is just hypocritical. Watch the movie, if you love it then you love it and if you hate it then its your personal choice. Its not necessary that what you like has to be liked by every other person.
The movie began with a Drama and slowly moves into a childs life who loves to listen to fairy tales about love and has a vivid imagination. The movie was shown from two perspectives the one from the individual and the one from others. The movie is about a person who wants to break free but isn't capable due to the harsh and judgemental world around him. The fight within the persons is what kept my heart and mind through out the whole movie. The best part of the movie is the story that the man tells to his father. After this movie my respect for Imtiyaz Ali has surely been escalated, He is a phenomenal movie maker who has a way of putting you through a path of self realisation and makes you sit and think about your life over and over again, I really loved the movie and even if anybody else hates it I don't really care because in the end what matters is how you relate to the movie.
